    This policy ensures that FFPL Board members have access to, and avail themselves of, training opportunities.

    In order to be effective, FFPL Board members must have sufficient knowledge of FFPL Board governance and issues that are central to the role of the FFPLTC in the community. Ongoing training ensures that FFPL Board members focus on good governance, strategic directions and policy implications rather than on operational details.

    1. To ensure ongoing education, the FFPL Board may:
      1. schedule time for FFPL Board training on the agenda of each regular meeting
      2. maintain memberships in relevant and applicable associations
      3. participate in online training sessions
    2. The FFPL Board will receive information from the CEO about training and networking offered by various organizations in Ontario.
    3. FFPL Board members will report on their participation in training FFPL Board events.
