Our birthday party packages cost $165 + HST)
Celebrate your child's next birthday with the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre!
We offer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) themed birthday party packages for a variety of ages.
Party packages are three hours in length and include 30 minutes for setup, one hour of engaging STEAM programming, an hour to celebrate, enjoy food, open presents, etc., and 30 minutes for clean-up. Party packages accommodate a maximum of 12 children.
The Shaw Community Hub
The Shaw Community Hub is a 440 sq. ft. meeting facility that includes two 75" LED Televisions that can accommodate the use of a DVD player or laptop (provided by you). This space features a modular table and 19 ergonomic chairs that can accommodate various setups.
The Shaw Community Hub can be rented by groups, organizations or individuals, and is the perfect place for large local gatherings. Host your next event in an accessible, comfortable, clean, and recognizable facility, available right in the centre of Fort Frances!
Packages
Slime (recommended ages 6+)
Get messy with this awesome slime workshop! Kids will experiment with slime, make their own slime and add different elements to see how it changes. They will put their skills to the test with a slime bubble blowing contest!
Young Builders (recommended ages 4+)
Build, test and experiment with hands-on activities like marble run, cup towers and bridge building. Exciting challenges for young engineers!
Makerspace Extravaganza (recommended 6+)
Unleash your creativity with the tools and trinkets in our Makerspace. From designing your own buttons to creating your own car with our Makedo tools - this package has it all!
LEGOpalooza (recommended ages 4+)
Library and LEGO... what's better than that!? This package will include a themed LEGO challenge of your choice, LEGO bingo where everyone will win a small prize, and you won't want to miss our LEGO volcano eruption!
Custom Creations (recommended ages 5+)
Create, paint, bead, and celebrate! Make a keychain at our airdry clay station, channel your inner Picasso at our painting station, and make your own jewelry at our bead station. Let your creativity shine with a birthday party full of hands-on fun!
Scheduling Responsibilities
Birthday events are currently only bookable from 1 to 4 on Saturdays. The Shaw Community Hub is booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Events requiring any technical or physical setup should be booked 30 minutes prior to their actual start time. This time is required for FFPLTC Staff to prepare the facility for your event.
The Shaw Community Hub is often booked back-to-back. If you suspect your event may run longer than expected, please consult with FFPLTC Staff prior to booking or starting your event, otherwise you and your participants may be required to leave at the end of your scheduled time. If your event runs longer than expected, you may be invoiced with an additional fee reflecting any changes.
